About Przemyśl
Przemyśl lies in a valley between two hills - Kopiec Tatarski and Winna Góra - and is divided by the river San into two parts: the Old Town and Zasanie, encircled by two rings of fortifications. It is an unusually charming and interesting place, where the histories of people, nations and states are interwoven. Once an impregnable fortress, today a city friendly to tourists, offering both recreational and historical attractions. Ideal for a rest and for making friends with history. An excellent base for trips to the Bieszczady Mountains and to Ukraine.
Przemyśl is called the capital of pipes and bells, and the tradition is kept alive by local craftsmen and bell founders, who put their heart into their work and carry it on from generation to generation. Przemyśl is a city that also caught the interest of Jaroslav Hašek - he wove into his writing mentions of its beautiful little streets, churches, Austro-Hungarian architecture and, of course, the pubs of Przemyśl.

The gateway to the Bieszczady Mountains
The oldest city in the region and one of the oldest cities in Poland. It is the seat of several institutions of more than local importance: the Podkarpackie Voivodeship Conservator of Monuments, the customs chamber, the Bieszczady branch of the Border Guard and the state archive with its vast collections.
The “gateway to the Bieszczady Mountains”, with numerous historic sites both in the city itself and in its neighbourhood - the castle in Krasiczyn, the arboretum in Bolestraszyce and the religious complex in Kalwaria Pacławska. A transport hub: the E40 international route, the border crossing with Ukraine at Medyka, and a large border railway station (Przemyśl Główny, Przemyśl Zasanie). Originally, Kopiec Tatarski (Przemysława) was a place of worship of the Slavic gods.
